It's supposed to be for men. I'm a woman and know that my bust size will make it look very different.For what I want though, it suits very perfectly. I love the embroidery on it the most! It's not soft fabric, but it does have a traditional texture and vibe to it. Will get again if they make bigger sizes! Unfortunately they dont make anything bigger than XL
