Review on Innovations FPC1221P Battery Operated Flicker by Sandy Vaughn

Does what I need

I use this in my butsudan, not an open fire and it pretty much does what I need. The light is not as bright as I would like, but a little brighter than expected. I agree with the reviewer who said the flame was too orange - true, but it's close enough to an actual candle that I'm happy with it. And I prefer that to real open flames and the difficulties and dangers that they entail. The light sensor worked fine when I tested it, but I point it toward the back of the Busudan when using it because it tends to pop out while I'm using it - not due to a fault with the product, but because of where it is in my house and because it's basically in a dark closet. If you keep this in your window it should be fine, although of course the amount and angle of light it receives will affect performance. The flicker feature works well, but I find this change annoying, so use constant mode. Basically, I only turn the candle on while singing and turn it off in between. On average, that's probably 15 minutes per day of use. The batteries are doing well so far. Admittedly it's just a light piece of plastic, but I work with it at least twice a day, sometimes thrice, turn it on and off and it's holding up well. The switch is solid and I expect it to work as long as the bulb in the candle works. I feel like I got my money's worth. It's not 100% perfect, but it's 95% what I want, and I was happy to find it in a relatively simple style and in one piece (rather than a bunch of candles when I only needed one).
