Review on H R 50104 Sport Spring by Pat Peoples

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Performance will be discussed later.

Not installed yet, hence a first impression. The performance chart is added after installation (matches the yellow Koni shock absorbers on the 04 TL). It's hard to tell from the product image, but the actual springs are painted a lovely matte blue with part numbers stamped on them. I'm not a fan of excessive understatement, which makes the car appear youthful. I compared it to Eibach springs, but some Eibach springs are now made in China, so I chose German. If the Eibach was made in the USA I would probably choose the Eibach. UPDATE SEPTEMBER 3, 2017: I combined them with Koni Yellow Sport (adjustable dampers; made in the Netherlands) and now my TL outperforms many German cars. The Koni shocks also have slight height adjustment; Renew the circlip of the lower spring plate. Even at the highest settings, the TL now sits about 2 inches lower than the OEM. These coils, by the way, are very well constructed and offer much less roll in turns and shock absorption on rough roads is satisfactory. They're probably coated, but as this winter is being put to the test for the first time, see how well they can resist corrosion.
