Bose Revolve + Overall excellent speaker, but a bit pricey. Here is my review - Packaging - Beautiful, simple, elegant and graceful. I have a special place in my heart for opening up electronics and the Bose Revolve+ didn't disappoint. There is no extra space and very good protection. Sound. While you won't get the quality of some high-end wired speakers, this Bluetooth beast packs a punch. The bass is very prominent and can even shake the table it's sitting on on some songs. The highs and mids are very clean. I've tested this speaker with everything from hip hop to classical and it never disappoints. The 360 degree sound is truly phenomenal. Aesthetics - I have the black version of the speaker and it is just amazing. The keys feel solid, they're a good overall weight and the grip is very solid. Only the best from Bose. Functionality - this is where the speaker loses a star for me. It's not a big deal, but I was disappointed that the speaker was completely dead and there was no indication that a full charge cycle was required before first use. I know it seems like a small thing but it almost made me feel like I had a broken device as the Bluetooth connection dropped several times and at one point even became completely useless despite being plugged into the wall. After 30-40 minutes of disappointment I decided to let the column charge and actually open the manual. (something I never do lol) The quickstart just says to pick a language, connect and listen. Although he instructed you to plug it in, he never told you to charge it for a while before using it. (This was the only way I found it worked out of the box). In addition, the complete user manual is only available online. I respect the go-green approach, but it's a bit disappointing in this situation. The speaker is drop and water resistant, which is a big plus. Haven't tested any of them yet but they seem very reliable and I wouldn't worry about leaving them in the rain or accidentally throwing them out of the pool. The speaker boasts 16 hours of battery life and I found that to be true when the device is fully charged. More than enough for a long summer BBQ in the sun. The battery is definitely one of the great features of the Bose Revolve+. apartment To be honest, the app doesn't do much for me. It's a pretty basic app and I go back to the Music app on my iPhone instead of using the limited controls in the Bose app. One of the bonuses the app offers is the "Party Mode" which allows you to connect two Soundlink speakers at the same time. That would be great, but given the price of the unit, I'll wait a while before investing in a second speaker. All in all, this is a great speaker and I highly doubt buyers will regret it. If you're willing to pay the price, you won't be disappointed. There were some minor hiccups in some of the initial shots, but nothing major. There was also a firmware update today, I'm not sure if it fixed some of the issues I've outlined earlier with bluetooth connectivity and charging or not, but if so it will be updated. I like the speaker and hope to get one in the near future.
