Review on Large Silicone Freezer Trays for Soup, Ice Cubes, Food Storage & Sauce - Giant 4 Cube Molds with Lid (Red) by Kristen Rohr

I was apprehensive about buying a silicone ice cream mold as I had had bad experiences with poor quality silicone molds where the ice cream would expand and be almost impossible to remove from the mold was. GOOD: Portions are clearly labeled and the perfect size. I made a batch of chicken broth and froze 4 individual cups for later use. Within 24 hours they were completely frozen and could be easily removed from the shell for further storage in freezer bags (labeled and dated). The silicone is easy to wash off. It's a good size and easily fits in my small freezer. I think this tray will pay off as I keep freezing homemade broth instead of buying it. THE BAD: It's silicone and even glass smells like chicken soup after a while. I've cleaned it twice and used vinegar but I still smell chicken broth. I plan to buy a second one to freeze my sweeter liquids (ginger concentrate and lemonade concentrate). I plan to use one for salty liquids and one for sweeter liquids. I feel that it is completely clean although a little odor remains. A NOTICE. This is great for freezing broth. I wouldn't freeze potato soup because potatoes change texture after freezing.
