Review on Weller WLACCWSM1 02 Soldering Station Large by Sam Simone

Great mat. I just wish it was even bigger, but it's actually a lot bigger than what's listed because it's just showing the surrounding area. The size of the large is 13.75 inches by 21.5 inches. Although the design is well thought out. There are slots all over the mat and they are numbered. This makes it easy to create a disassembly sheet in which all screw and part numbers and their origin in the machine are recorded. Definitely well organized. We have created a sheet for use in the workshop to easily match the mat to the screw and part numbers. I haven't tested the heat resistance but this mat has proven good for my spouse who has a Weller soldering station. He can be used to work with circuits when repairing computers, phones and other gadgets at work. There are several magnets on the mat that help keep things on the mat. They're a bit weaker, but it's still a nice feature. The silicone keeps it in place so it doesn't slip as long as the workspace is clean and free of water. The only real downside I've noticed is that this thing attracts dust and hair. If there is a sliver of something around the rug, it will attract it. Good thing it washes off easily. I didn't submerge it in water because of the magnets, but it wipes clean and dries quickly. It was a solid purchase. I think my spouse will use it for years. It is designed to be used throughout life.
