The Extech LT40 LED Light Meter is easy to use and provides reasonable readings. I'm reasonable as I don't have a good method of determining the true accuracy of a gauge and the readings I get appear in a window I would expect from normal light sources. I typically use it for readings of 10 foot candles and below, typically in the 0.3 to 3.0 range, and with LED lighting, induction lighting, and metal halide lamps. I took some measurements in the office and compared the readings to the area lighting footprint and my readings were in the general range of what you would expect for an office space and compared favorably to the architectural lighting footprint. it can sometimes cause problems in the darker environment i normally find myself in, but in the worst case i use the hold function and then read the display. Since the detector is attached to the meter and cannot even rotate, it is sometimes necessary to use the hold function to take readings when the meter is to be pointed away from me. For the money and ease of use I would buy it again.
