My estimate may seem high but in 2020 this amazing camera can be bought for very little money. This is an AWESOME value if you don't need to record video or worry about live view and others just want to take great photos. With this body you are only limited by your imagination and creativity. 10 megapixels is a lot to be honest - print amazing 11x14 images and you'll be able to print more and still be great quality. Buy this body if you want a rugged, weatherproof construction, plenty of manual controls, and the ability to take full advantage of older Nikkor AF-D lenses. There are some AMAZING DEALS on legacy autofocus D lenses. 2 general purpose and EXCELLENT lenses you can and should buy for less than $100: Nikon 70-210mm f4-5.6D (note the D after 5.6) . It's one of the fastest focusing D lenses ever made, and it's incredibly sharp. Made with quality to last a lifetime. Also get the Nikon AF-D 28-105mm f3.5-4.5 which has an AMAZING MACRO mode. D200 and these 2 lenses and maybe a cheap 50mm f.18D and you are in a world of amazing photography. Of course, you might have to play with the settings a bit if you're new to photography, but you can create PRO quality images with the above gear, and this stuff is built to professional specs, so it'll last forever if you do not abuse it . So for only $200 you can get an amazing D200 camera and a pair of VERY HIGH QUALITY lenses that are physically far superior to today's consumer lenses and enjoy photography at a much lower price. more intense than buying a new cheap camera with a plastic body and a cheap crappy plastic lens. Spend some time on Flickr or Explorecams or other sites, search by model (camera lens, etc.) and see the amazing options you can discover.
