Review on Kuryakyn 2579 Motorcycle Lighting Accessory by Richard Surveh

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not as elegant a solution as I had hoped.

Bottom Line: If I hadn't reinforced the foam pads with VHB tape, I would NOT trust them to keep my very expensive Kuryakyn Kellerman bullets from falling. Even with the band, I'm not very comfortable with them. I should never have trusted a system that uses a single bolt to secure anything. It didn't work with Shovelhead exhausts and it didn't work with these clips. To mount them even tightly, I had to wrap the inside of the clamps with 3M VHB tape and tighten the mounting screw more than I would like. They don't inspire trust yet. Thus, they do not fulfill their main function. A second bolt wouldn't make these things ugly; they should have done that. Everything else about them is pretty cool, especially the way they work with Kellermann bullets and support their wiring as it comes out of the mounting studs. However, if those things bounce down the road instead, the clips haven't done their job (and how well they complement Kuryakyn's other product will be immaterial).

Pros
  • The unique clamping system adapts to fork tubes with a diameter of 39mm to 49mm and accepts all aftermarket indicators with M8-1. 25 Threaded Bolts
Cons
  • Negative Present
