Review on Sony 8T160VR VHS Cassettes 160 Minutes (8-Pack) - Discontinued Model for Extended Recording by Richard Payne

Very poor performance

Okay, let's be honest. In the United States, there are probably only about eight people left who videotape TV shows. i am one of them And my needs are incredibly simple. I just want a video cassette that can do three things: 1. Record pictures and sounds with the same fidelity as TV2. Work with different video players by time counters3. Working with different video players through "markers" indicating the beginning of a new recording. After using some old videocassettes I decided to buy some new ones and like an idiot I thought "Sony!" How bad can these be? Well after trying 10 of them I can say, that they can be (and are) very bad. Yes, they capture images and sound quite well, but they fail at #2 and #3 above. When you play, you can't track where you are with the time counter. And they do not register new record index marks. I've used Maxell before and never had a problem. I think I'll throw them away and go back to Maxell. I sincerely advise you to give them up.
