For that amount I really didn't know what to expect. I didn't want to drill a 3/4" hole to patch later if that didn't work and it only needed a 3/8" hole so win win. Having used the Tram Mag which had great reviews I was disappointed with it, regardless of the setting I could never get the SWR below 2. With this antenna, after installation and wiring, the SWR was 1.04 at 145MHz and 1.23 at 440MHz. My only complaint is that the cord is about 12 inches short, but adding just a short extension cord isn't really a big deal. I installed it on the roof of an F150.
