This overbed table is the best looking overbed table I've ever owned. Easy to assemble & heavy duty. Yes, easy to raise from a sitting or laying position. Not easy to lower while sitting or laying. A person may need to be standing to lower the table without a struggle. Every table I've owned was the same way. No biggie for me. The only issue I had was that the table would squeak with the slightest movement. To fix the problem I sprayed silicone on the area where the two mounting brackets (metal) attach to each other connected to the table top. (WD-40 can be used too) Problem solved, no more squeaks. This table is perfect in my opinion.!
