Review on Dell ST2421L 24-Inch Wide-Screen Monitor with 1920x1080 Resolution and 60Hz Refresh Rate - Discontinued by Manufacturer by Christopher Ballard

I used to work for a company that only bought Dell UltraSharp Flat 24 inch flat screens that cost over $400 each. When I became a contractor and had to buy my own equipment, I was willing to compromise on price. I bought one and had a dual monitor setup for a while with an ultra sharp 19" 4:3 screen (Dell 1907). The colors are not quite the same. By default, they have a slightly more yellow saturation. But there are plenty of options to tweak the RGB settings along with contrast and brightness for you to tweak. But I'm a sysadmin, not an artist or web designer, so I leave it stock and it works for me. The base has been fixed. So it doesn't go up, down or turn 90 degrees, but tilts back and forth. A Dell speaker bar can be connected to this monitor, although you must use the speaker bar power supply as it does not have a 5V connector built into the monitor. Overall I was so pleased with the price and overall performance that I bought a second one and if I can assemble my new table if I have the space I will buy a third because they are good quality and you get bang for the buck gets a nice screen with quite high resolution. I am also happy to report that the second monitor has the same color profile as the first one purchased 3 months earlier. So if you buy a pair of these to use at the same time, they're ready to go. In the past I've had monitors of the same make, model and year but with different color profiles. Bottom line: if you're a graphic designer or need extremely accurate color palettes, you'll need to spend more money on an Ultrasharp-class monitor. But for most people it will fit the bill and give you a good bang for your buck.
