Review on Pyle PDBC70: 9 Outlet PDU Power Strip Surge Protector - 150 Joules, Heavy-Duty Electric Extension Cord with Rack Mount Protection and 9 Front Switches by Van Masterson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great multi-device power controller.

I've only had this machine a few days but have gotten it up and running and so far it's doing everything I need it to do. I'm glad all vessels are on the back. I need this for my application. And all the switches are on the front panel and numbered. If you're like me, you have many devices connected to your computer that have small power transformers to power them. And so you need to find a place to connect them. Well my solution was to purchase this unit along with two packs of 5 x 3 pin 12" ClearMax extension cables. Using these short extensions you will have no problem trying to install transformers at a distance. sockets on the device. By hooking up all your little transformers and labeling the switches based on which transformer you have, you can easily turn other devices on and off from one place. I know a lot of people just leave these Transformers plugged in permanently. Not only do transformers constantly consume energy and add to your electric bills, but it is also dangerous to leave transformers plugged in unattended. Razor, telephone, radio, etc., they can cause a fire. With this device I can plug my phone into the charger, flip the switch and it will start charging. When I'm done, I just take it off and turn it off. With nine switches on this device, you can control more devices. The quality seems to be good. I read somewhere that the side tabs for rack mounting are made of thin metal. Not sure which unit they refer to as the rack mount brackets on mine are academic metal. They cannot be bent by hand. You might be able to bend them with pliers, but they seem as sturdy as any rack mount brackets I've seen. The switches seem to be of good quality when you flip them and they light up. Since I've only had the device for a short time, I can't say how long the light lasts. However, the lights are just a bonus. If the switch is up, it's on; if it's down, it's off. If the switch continues to work properly, the light doesn't bother me, although it's nice to have from a distance. The power cord is a strong, good quality cord that is long enough for most applications. I am very happy with this device and it solves my electrical problems related to multiple devices.
