Review on Dastool Grinding Universal Grinding Dt1701 125D by Nathan Jones

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Almost gave up, but with a little modification it works with a Dewalt coffee grinder!

Purchased to do some prep work on the edge of my garage before applying the epoxy. After a failed initial attempt to install it on my Dewalt (DWE402) 4 1/2" angle grinder, I looked through the product Q&A on Revain and found that someone said it would not work with my model grinder. I was ready to return the item but then decided to give it another try by modifying my angle grinder and the dust cover myself a bit and I was able to get it working I had to remove the standard grinder latch on my grinder and Slightly sand the edge of the dust cover to create enough clearance to install the dust cover flush on the tool For the price, it's definitely worth a little extra effort over the home made one that the tool manufacturer offers at 4 times the price wasn't perfect but it did the job.My biggest disappointment was the rubber adapter that held the hose adapter connects to the dust cover. Even with copious gluing of electrical tape, it kept falling out. Also, the bristles on the edge of the sheath could be a hair shorter, to get the sanding disc closer to the surface you have to apply a lot of pressure. I would rate it higher if the manufacturer provided more detailed instructions, improved the vacuum line connection, and designed it to better match the collar depth on different grinders (I didn't have to use my grinder on the product to get it working bring to). With a few photos in case it helps save others time and trouble!

Pros
  • ★ Flush sanding door that collects dust when sanding flush edges
Cons
  • Great Price
