My girlfriend says I have a fetish for LED bulbs and after seeing me buy this bulb she does maybe right! I will say this, I love quality light. These rancid CFLs are driving me crazy and I'm happy to say I never installed them voluntarily. However, LEDs are different. I think they are a quality light source and if you know what you are buying they bring great satisfaction, unbeatable durability and energy savings for the price. (TIP: A typical 60W incandescent bulb produces 800-850 lumens of light. Lumens is the amount of light. It could be less, say 600, so stay away from them.) Performance is what you pay for. With a 60 watt bulb, you pay for 60 watts of energy. You pay 9 watts of power for an equivalent 60 watt LED lamp. , Over 6X cheaper to run, AND they don't generate burning heat like incandescent bulbs or mercury CFLs, AND they last for YEARS - 22 to 33! LEDs pay for themselves in a very short time. So if I get a chance to get this 300-watt (5000K) daylight bulb with 4000 (yes, a thousand) lumens that uses 8 times less power and barely heats up, how could I not? I mean people! Hey, it's win, win, win, win! I use this to light my work area and it comes in a standard outlet. Do not worry. Works perfectly. With the right reflector this gives a nice soft shaded natural light. The fetish continues!
