Review on 🎧 AfterShokz Air AS650MB Open Ear Wireless Bone Conduction Headphones - Midnight Blue by Damion Pasquale

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Safe, high-quality music.

The new model is lighter and more comfortable to wear than the Trek Titanium. The sound quality is also slightly better. The battery life has not changed. I get about 8-10 hours of use before they run out of juice. If you're new to bone conduction headphones, I'd recommend ignoring most of the negative sound quality reviews. As far as I can tell, most of this is coming from people who expect studio-quality audio over a Bluetooth headset, streamed through your SKULL. You won't get studio quality audio on any bone conduction device. I've also seen several reviews complaining about the maximum volume being too low. I suspect their phone limits the volume (to avoid hearing damage). I had to disable this restriction on my phone. My kit can dispense a lot of volume, more than enough to cause pain. The biggest advantage of using this type of headset is that you are not cut off from the sound environment around you when listening. Running or cycling, where you need to maintain situational awareness, is much safer with them. But you will suffer a bit in sound quality. But I think the sound quality is very good. I work in an area where I need to hear alarms. This works very well for me in a production environment. When I need better sound, I use a noise canceling kit. Each of them is designed for different listening conditions. I will give 5 stars to the next model if the battery life is extended and the price is less than $125.
