Great concept Poor quality

I'm a little below average and I wouldn't say I hit the ball too hard. I hit the ball a few times a week for about 30 minutes. However, the quality of the ball and string leaves a lot to be desired. My first string frayed and broke after less than a couple weeks of use. The ball then cracked in less than a month. Yes, the seller kindly replaced the strings and even added an extra ball and string. Of course the quality seems below average because I went through 2 more strings and another ball split. It's a great concept and a great workout when it works, but the quality of the ball and string needs improvement. I'm also not sure why the price has dropped so much. I paid $39 for mine from this seller and now it's less than $14! The? Why? Was the lack of quality the reason why the seller lowered the price so drastically? 8-(I think I'll have to try and determine the thickness of the elastic cord and buy a jar of balls and a thicker elastic cord and then try and replace "MacGyver" which keeps breaking.
