Review on πŸ” CIPA 11300 Custom Towing Mirror for Toyota - Pair by Richard Simmons

Revainrating 2 out of 5

It could have been designed better.

1. I ordered it for the night because I needed it for the night. I want my $8 back - came in two days.2. He's pretty muddy. Doesn't fit perfectly - rotates/hangs on the outside edge.3. The anti-slip mechanism is also fragile: if you pull the bar down, it will slip out of the alignment groove.4. This will NOT allow trucks (like mine - a 2013 Toyota Tundra) that have auto folding mirrors that fold the mirrors. You CANNOT use this feature while these mirrors are on your truck. Now - I couldn't return them because I had to have them. They are required for the legal transport of the trailer. SO. I modified them: A. Use a hacksaw and carefully cut off the corner (at the towing mirror, just to be clear) where the base of the main mirror connector is to keep the mirror from dangling when you flip it up. Cut about 2 x 1.5 inches from this bottom corner. The stabilizer bar/strut must be connected to the towing mirror. I drilled a hole in the rod and mirror body about 2 inches from the outside edge. Make sure the rod lines up with the hole for the big screw that should hold everything together. Use a flat head machine screw, the head is inside the mirror housing and the washer/nut is outside. Tighten gently but not too tightly, it's all plastic. The stabilizer bar/strut bar actually stays in place because otherwise it won't.
