Review on US Balance ACE 100 x 0.01g Grams Digital Grain Scale: Precise Coin and Grain Measurement in Stylish Silver by Simon Nugroho

Hardly usable. on envelopes, postage and mailing materials

Received today with a set of M2 calibration weights. I don't have a good way of telling if my new scale or calibration weights are accurate, but I have found that these scales read within about 20mg of the advertised 100mg to 20mg weight of each calibrator (or group of). . I have found that it will not accept my weighed 10mg mass, but will level off exactly at 20mg given enough time. As mentioned elsewhere, the sleep timer is short -- slightly longer than the weight stabilization time by 10-20mg -- so I'm used to either leaving the first sample on the scale until it's done with the next sample, OR occasionally lightly brush the scale with your fingertip to keep it "alive" between weighings. LATER: Major edit and modification of this review based on the fact that I actually tried using this scale to weigh things. Here are the problems: * The sleep timer sometimes turns itself off even during weighing, giving it an annoying tendency to fall asleep in the middle of weighing. This requires re-taring if you are doing anything more complicated than weighing reference weights.* As the weight on the platter decreases, the scale will reset to zero and recalculate the current weight. This isn't usually a problem, but it's definitely an annoyance.* The settling time is quite long compared to the sleep timer. I often find that the weight reading is still fluctuating when the scale goes to sleep.* It is not sensitive to weight changes of less than 10mg, maybe less than 20mg.* I would say that it is indeed a scale with a accuracy of about 30 mg and an accuracy of 10 mg.* When weighing to the target, like adding reagent powder to a sheet of weighing paper, the balance will drift. a little. Adding some weight seems to confuse him. Weigh the reagent*. In general, they are unsuitable for laboratory use. These scales are suitable for determining the weight of objects, but not for measuring the weight of a substance. Better postal scales than laboratory scales.

Very sensitive. Great buy for the price. Small/portable.
