Review on πŸͺ’ Parker Safety Razor Premium Badger Shaving Brush: Create Thick & Luxurious Lather with Stand - Black & Chrome Handle by Angie Baker

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Impressive in every way

I've been wet shaving for almost 10 years. Like most, I started out with a regular boar head brush, which left a lot to be desired. I bought this Omega 63171 Stripey 100% Pure Badger shaving brush with stand, according to my Revain story, in September 2008. The Omega brush was excellent but in the last 6 months it started to fall out. I decided it was time to buy a new one and settled on this Parker Safety Long Loft. To understand the quality you have to see it live and hold it in your hands. It really has a very hard feel and the brush itself is filled with what I would call medium hardness. The foam this brush creates is smooth and thick. I hate nothing more than a shaving brush that forms a thin, watery lather. It creates a thick lather, especially for shaving the head. The bristles are a bit softer than my previous Omega, but I don't see that as a problem. The grip is also better than in the picture. It's similar to the shaving brush you find at the hair salon. The included stand is also solidly constructed. I have no problem with it tipping over or sliding when you put a brush on it or take it off. I can only hope it lasts as long as the Omega. It's pretty nice to use. I followed the same rules as I did with my Omega: I soaked it overnight, let it dry, lost exactly 4 bristles and haven't lost a single bristle since. The only question will be how it will take months and then years. I will be updating about every 6 months for the first few years to ensure it is as high quality and comprehensive as I currently believe it is. Highly recommended.
