I bought this clip to attach the slider to a tripod leg. You need to thread the ball section into the clamp and use the thumbwheel to tighten the clamp. The problem was that no matter how hard I hand-tightened the knurled knob, when I moved the controller slightly, the threaded part came loose. When this screw connection loosens, the entire ball assembly twists and turns, turning the controller upside down and disconnecting the batteries. You even need a clamp - the ball itself will take care of the adjustment. So I thought to try a similar collar from SmalRig. The SmallRig clamp does not have a knurled grip BUT the same problem occurs - a slight nudge and the threads come loose. The fix for both of these clamps is a RED threadlocker on the threads going into the clamp. Problem solved. I returned Wanby, left SmallRig and used threadlocker on SmallRig. (I left SmallRig because I found the clip to be smoother than the Wanby.) If you need a clip to hold your device SECURELY, then I recommend SmallRig and Threadlocker.
