Review on Empava 36-inch Induction Cooktop with 5 Power Boost Burners and Smooth Black Ceramic Glass Surface - 240V by Gerald Mohammed

Could NOT be more impressed for a small company. Come on Empa!

Bought this for my wife to replace an old 36 inch electric spa hob, pretty much the final item in our kitchen renovation. Installation was ridiculously easy, except it was 2cm taller than my previous cutout, but I can't complain about that - quick sanding. When finished it worked great. I hesitated to write a review until we actually tested it with our summer/fall preserve The pickles are done, have done a slow pasteurization process at 180-185 degrees with a range of 6 per slider in and out. This lightness level is important to me, the electric coil is too unreliable and we don't have gas here. Lesson Learned - Old-school mason jars may not have the "smooth" finish you thought they had before you tried them. Not the stove manufacturer's fault. The surface does not heat up. Putting paper towels UNDER a pan of fried bacon without a trace of heat is so weird, but it works so well. Overall, this is a DEFINED BUY. !

Pros
  • Hot Surface Indicator - An 'H' will appear on the cooking zone display to let you know at a glance when the elements are hot to the touch. The pan size sensor heats the element to the size of your pan and turns off when the pan is removed for safer and more efficient cooking. With induction cooking, the heat is generated directly in the cookware, making the hob feel cooler, and child safety locks prevent accidental activation for added peace of mind.
Cons
  • Small Parts
