so it was my first time using shampoo and conditioner bars. I hate lots of bottles in the bathroom and I hate trash. but I'm also very tight on cash, so spending $20 on this as an experiment is quite painful! I have thick long curly hair. I let the color fade, so I can't tell if this product will speed up that process or not. I was very skeptical about this product. Surprisingly 3 weeks in it so far seems great. the shampoo actually foams very slightly, it smells nice in the shower (oranges) but when i go out and it dries by itself i can't smell much. I agree, I've never liked the smell of shampoo so that's almost a bonus. The conditioner is more difficult to apply to the hair, but I've learned to take my time and probably spend up to a minute moving it around, under and over the length. It feels like there is air conditioning, but it's a completely different experience than bottled food. it doesn't stick at all. The fact that it's taking me a little longer to wash it off makes me realize it's happening. Overall, my hair looks and feels better than usual (with bottled products). You won't get wet and dirty like a regular bar of soap on the tub edge. I put them on the paper they came with and left them next to my towels to dry each day. after 3 weeks they look smaller, but that's nothing to worry about. my head every other day. Also, it's a big plus for me, on day 2 when I don't wash my hair, my hair looks and feels better than before. the fringes/bangs are not greasy and if the 2nd non-washing day falls on a Friday like last week, I didn't wash it again until Sunday, which was great. By the end of the weekend he actually had a good break from shopping. It opened my eyes to the fact that these products can work on thick long hair and I'm going to try others now. I'll report when I'm done with both bars to tell you how long they took. all in all a big change, no plastic, no slimy foam sludge or overpowering perfume. (42f).
