Review on ๐ŸŽถ Nobsound Little Bear T11: High-Fidelity Vacuum Tube Phono Turntable Preamplifier for LP Vinyl Records by Nathan Byard

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I like drums. Compatible with Receivers and Amplifiers

I accidentally pressed the one-click buy button on my tablet when I turned off the tablet (not exactly an intentional purchase). Anyway, when this thing arrived I debated for days whether to return it or give it a try, so it's now sitting in my living room hooked up to my Pro-Ject turntable and Denon amp. I find the sound warm and open, I have something for drums that sounds, well, like drums. This is achieved for me, also I love how vocals and acoustics sound with this preamp, again very open and natural, I can detect things like cymbal or kick decay and that was something I didn't hear with your ART DJ could II (also a great little amp). The packaging was typically Chinese, well packaged but could have been better, the build quality of the Little Bear is as good as you can find at this price point (remember it's $200 not $2000). red inputs and outputs are labeled left, while white ones are labeled right. I just ignored it as I used the red on the right and it works fine. I've wanted to try the tube hardware for a while, this 'bug' gave me the opportunity, I have a few days before I have to return these, but for now it seems to be a keeper. Edit: I put the tubes in with a matching set of Mullard 12AX7 tubes, they helped open up a flat response at the bottom of the unit, the overall tone of the preamp is even better now, the drums sounded great with the original tubes but now they sound fuller, not as flat as at first. It is highly recommended to upgrade to the original device.

Pros
  • The Little Bear T11 is an all tube phono preamp that only works with MM turntables. Please make sure your turntable is equipped with a PHONO signal output instead of a line output.
Cons
  • Style 90
