I bought this for our Yi home camera to put outside. Yi is slightly thinner than the camera this case was designed for, so the infrared night vision drowns out the image at night. There seems to be a small pad that the lens has to rest against to block infrared rays, and if it were about 1/8 inch thicker it would fit this camera too. I turned off the camera's infrared capability and it captures most nocturnal activity illuminated by our home light quite well. I doubt the waterproofness. The fact is that there is no gasket, but the case closes very tightly. I have it under the eve so it will never see direct rain. So far so good.
