I bought this for my 9ft umbrella and as there are no installation instructions I took photos along the way. I put 3 AA batteries in the package, I checked the light first. Tested with remote control. 9 options are cute but pretty nasty, only work from time to time. I figured I'd need at least 4 zip ties per arm, but I also used twisted zip ties on the base when I found my way. I saw a picture where you hang a battery on a pole, then I used the rope closest to the neck. Take your time, one bite at a time. First I pulled the stinger to the end of the arm to see where I needed to go and loosely applied the zip tie, then settled on either side of the armrest. Then each hand was tightened and cut off. So I agree the installation is easy, but take your time and consider not over tightening the zip ties. I even got the last 2 strings mixed up and was able to loosen them since I hadn't tightened them. I'll add a photo later when they light up and let you know how long they last.
