Philips 433227 Slim A19 10.5W dimmable LED bulb Soft White

I now know that fluorescent tubes, which I have bought in the past to replace incandescent bulbs, wear out with every on/off cycle and don't really last as long as they claim. They're better than incandescent bulbs, but not as good as these Philips LED bulbs. I bought this Philips LED bulb, #433227 10.5W A19 Slim Dimmable LED Bulb, Soft White, to do some lighting tests with this bulb compared to fluorescent, incandescent and other LED lights. I plan to spend some money and either convince myself that this new technology works, or continue using energy-saving fluorescent lighting for a while. This lamp is rated for 25,000 hours of use. Does that mean I can run it continuously for 25,000 hours? I don't think fluorescent bulbs are built to last too these days, but I had to replace burned out bulbs many years ago. I have a feeling that a lightbulb that screws into a 120 volt AC power source and converts that power to low voltage DC to power LEDs or a fluorescent element should last that long, and I've found that AC-DC converters can't handle that. for a long time due to structural or thermal damage caused by this conversion. It's possible that LEDs can last that long if given the right constant DC voltage and current limiting performance, but the technology is still evolving and I'm not sure these converter designs are that reliable. This light comes on immediately. Bright as soon as you turn it on. It is bright white in color, not pleasing to the eye and looks good in a lamp with a shade. The lamp has two sockets with independent wiring and a chain for each bulb. One of them is fluorescent and I believe it has been working for a couple of years. This lamp, LED, is brighter, but the fluorescent lamp takes some time to reach full brightness. So far I'm really liking this light, but it's too early to tell. If that changes I'll come back to this review with any changes I see or lumen tests I run with my new light meter. So far so good and I like it.
