I use this wire to power a variety of 12vdc lights for my boating and fishing adventures. I've already made numerous connections with it and they work like a charm. I've replaced the crappy 22-24 gauge wire that comes with most products shipped from China as it's just awful to work with. I'm no electrician, but I can tell the positive from the negative, and that 16 gauge wire makes for a much more secure hold. This is a stranded wire where the filaments do not break when twisted, creating a fairly strong connection. I'm using 2.1 x 5.5mm male and female connectors on the power end and have made some connections on the power out (battery) side for use with 1250Ah batteries so you can quickly connect to another light source can produce. I can use the lights on my boat and then quickly hook up the lights in my house with a screen using the same or an extra battery I have, or fish off shore off the marina at night. It's nice to have light wherever you need or want it. I have a backpack that I carry all my batteries, connectors and light sources in and I can travel anywhere and have light. And since it's a pair, there's no tangle of separate positive and negative wires to fold, just a neat package.
