If it's not silk, then it's very close!

The keyboard is broken, so I have to mistype my words. Just ignore them and pretend they don't exist! lol Anyway, my tip is this: for it to be a retro 1950's scarf, it has to be MUCH SMALLER. Because scarves were SMALL back then. So you would tie it around your neck and there would be almost no fabric left. That's a cute pixie. This is NOT THAT. Regular size silk scarf. So it's not girly or cute. What keeps it from being unkempt or homey is the polka dot style. They are not small and not massive. Just the perfect size for retro 1950s style, but the style - the size - of the scarf itself is way too big for it. A stylish scarf - I have no idea - I don't understand the names of scarves - that you would tie around your neck shocker style would be too small to wear as a headscarf. This KAN scarf can be worn just like that. And this is one of those applications that some people might need! It is VERY soft and comfortable on the skin - like silk. So if it's not silk then wow, great job on the material development! Some people don't like lightweight scarves, but in this case - since it's black with polka dots - you want it to be lightweight I guess, otherwise you'd look like an old lady trying NOT to look like an old lady! ha ha ha just wish it was more like a 9 inch square. Whatever the norm for 1950s scarves was. It would make him look younger and more refreshing. You definitely will NOT get that "look" with THIS scarf. it performs the function of a shawl and the pattern is not the coarse polka dots one usually sees in factory shops. It's a happier pea - bigger, bigger. So it's definitely stylish. But to have the style it claims to be, it has to be smaller (broken keyboard - sorry!), it's soft, and like all silk scarves, the pattern is not separate from the fabric - it's an integral part of the scarf itself. in case anyone is wondering. Once I got over my frustration at being too big for the look I wanted—that retro 1950s look—I realized I could use it as a headscarf, too. - and in that respect it's great because it's as soft as chiffon, holds the knot well and isn't too big - like that. Ad I bought it. If you want the 50s look, you won't get it with this scarf. Hope this review helps!
