I don't like neoprene clothing at all. seems very unnatural to me. I made an exception with them because of the price and because I was specifically looking for a light shoe that doesn't grip the ground too much as I like to do Capoeira moves like rolling on the ground on the ball of my foot. This satisfactorily satisfies my needs and the material does not bother me. The only thing I would recommend if you're thinking about buying them is to take advantage of the Revain return policy and buy a few pairs to experiment with the sizes. I usually wear men's size 8.5 9 and "S" and "M" fit me very well (see photo where I wear 8.5 on the left and 9 on the right; something right between "S" and "M". " would be perfect) and could have gone anyway (and I'm very picky about sizing) but ended up going down a size because I like a snug fit in my shoes and the material covering the toe box is too short to cover my toes in a large size (as you can see in the photo my big toe on my right foot doesn't go in the toe box) I would have preferred the sock material to cover most of my toes even in a smaller size covered to make my feet feel more secure in the forward/backward direction.
