Good cable but I have not replaced the junk cable. I used Micca Toslink; well built and good looking and sounding. I needed a longer Toslink and the Micca is only a meter long. Sign in to CableDirect. Looks just as nice, just as well built. My system sounds cleaner overall, with a wider and deeper soundstage and better separation, more air. Is it directly on the cable? I doubt it. Even vinyl sounds better. I think it's a combination of moving my equipment off the same surface as the speakers, better cable management, rack mounting to reduce vibration, and installing a voltage stabilizer. This cable certainly helps deliver a clean optical signal at nearly two meters. No audible signs of degradation.
