I originally wanted to buy an Acoustimass 300 subwoofer to pair with my Soundbar 300. I found that it was compatible with my Soundbar 300 and wasn't even $700. In my example, it had to be connected via an AUX cable. Wireless pairing worked for about a day then had disconnecting issues and I went to the Bose forums to investigate and this seems to be a constant albeit common issue. The subwoofer itself is tuned exactly as you would expect from Bose. It's not exactly overwhelming, but to the point where you don't get noise complaints anymore. Its strength is in the middle of the bass spectrum. It can still shake the floor by turning on the bass through the soundbar if you want that too. Again, it's mostly suttle, which is perfect for where I live. I'm glad I made this purchase and I recommend it despite a small issue.
