Best $30 I've Ever Spent!

We have a three-legged kitten named Captain Ahab and we're having trouble finding a fix for his scratches. He can't jump as he doesn't have a hind leg and is quite chubby so traditional scratching posts won't work for him. We tried a Munchkin cat scratching post, but while he didn't have to jump, he showed no interest in the scratching post ($100 wasted). pretty desperate. Ahab hesitantly began scratching at various things around the house, obviously frustrated that he wasn't getting the proper opportunity to scratch so I realized why not and hit the orb. It took Ahab a little time to figure out what it was (he's not the smartest of cats). At first I just sat, then I tried to lie down and after a few days finally the first scratch! Since then, he's really taken it upon himself! He seems a lot happier now that he has a good spot to scratch and still enjoys lying on it. We've had it for a little over a month and it's still hard and scratchy. The areas where it scratches the most are definitely visible and I reckon it will need a new one for new scratches in about 6 months but I will be more than happy to do so. It is much more profitable to buy a $30 scraper every 6-10 months than to buy a $100 scraper that is currently being used as a place to balance items and still be completely scratch free!
