Cat hates the taste but seems to work

My cats hate this in their food. I bought it because one of my guys looked like a local bully and I wanted him to look like he was from the good side of the track. He doesn't swallow it so I started rubbing it into his patches (I thought it would soak into his skin) and then he liked it too and lo and behold his fur looked better. His bald spots were filling up (he was licking the stomach area of his pants), and his bumpy ears (from walking through the bushes) were softening and becoming pleasant to stroke again.
