Well I just recently sold a Canon 80d because I have a winner on a set of lenses, here she is also Canon SL1. It's so tiny but I love the picture quality. If you are traveling, this is your best choice. It's surprisingly small, smaller than my Panasonic Pro Kit, G9 and GX8. For these cameras I use because I can get a pro lens for less than the Canon which used to be my main lens. But I can't refuse SL1. Is it as technically sharp as my pro kit? Maybe not, but the sharpness depends on the manufacturer anyway. This is a photo that ends up in magazines. And since my first Canon 20d I have not been able to get across the way Canon handles color and reproduces sharpness. Are there any advantages to using the M43 instead? Yes. Silent shooting, many more options, open and foldable screens, etc. But when I travel, or even more so this year when I travel, combine the SL1 with an ultra-sharp 40mm pancake and do street, landscape and portrait shots with great results . I also recently bought Canon's new ultra sharp 35mm macro and wow. It fits the SL1 perfectly. I don't care at all about newer versions of SL1. SL2/3. This SL1 does an excellent job of what you need to do as a professional photo artist or enthusiast. Video? I do not know. Don't make a video of it. My G9 and GX8 record professional quality videos, but I'm not a video professional. I work for magazines and print media. Negative? Maybe he can't take the fall. But let's face it. You can get great SL1s for less than $200. Do not throw!
