A Christmas present for my parents. Used for about a month (about 1 liter per day). It's as quiet as I could have expected (like a desktop computer with big fans). Only criticism is that the water has a slightly chemical taste for about the first week. Other people have mentioned using a pitcher filter to get rid of that part. It seemed to have such a light taste that I didn't feel like I was drinking anything harmful and I think it was because the condenser tube was new and there was something in it. I've tried a similar flavor in new fountains. In conclusion, I have no complaints that would make me regret this purchase. In fact, I just got the stainless steel version in the mail (from the same seller/item page).
