This device is designed to replace a single duplex AC outlet. You need a socket cover to have a modern GFCI socket instead of separate holes for two plugs. The device has four USB sockets, each pair capable of delivering a total current of 2.1A. So if you have two phones connected and use the top two USB sockets you will get about one amp of current per port, while if you use ports 1 and 3 you will get 2.1 amps of current. flows into any phone for faster charging. Note that the iPad charging case supplies 2.4 amps of power, so while this device charges well, it's not as fast as a 2.4 amp charger, and certainly not as fast as the fast charge port will allow. .Assuming you install the device so that the embossing on the cover (indicating the amount of current supplied) is right side up, all the USB connectors are upside down. This means you must insert the USB connector with the USB logo DOWN instead of up. This is annoying and leads to confusion. The size of the device is quite large. While the front panel is standard, the box behind it has larger dimensions than the front panel. Because of this, I couldn't install it in several old electrical boxes in my house. Everything behind the front panel measures 36mm deep, 43mm wide, 68mm high.
