I had approx. The maximum width is 39 inches that I had to squeeze the table into. This was the best choice for me as unlike others that fit, this one has a monitor stand as well as a couple of shelves at the end. where I can store the files I'm working on without cluttering up my desktop. It was easy to put together (all the parts are labeled) but I recommend an electric screwdriver if you have one. It also prevents hand wear and speeds up the process. It's a relatively cheap table and the price is right for the quality. It doesn't necessarily all fit together perfectly so I quickly found that I didn't have to tighten all the screws until I had everything together as I had to loosen a few of them so I could install the other part. I found this table to be the "golden mean" between price and quality. I found tables that were cheaper but they had horrible reviews and even looked "cheap" in the pictures. The desk looks decent, works well and won't break the bank. I'm 6'1" and there is plenty of legroom, although I would say there isn't much room.
