These banana plugs are great for connecting speakers to a variety of mini amps that are now commonly used in secondary stereo systems such as the home office or guest room. Their simple construction enables quick connection to speaker cables of different gauges and, depending on the installation location, allows the cable to be inserted from the rear or from the side. The thumbscrew that holds the wire in the connector housing is tool-free, small and therefore difficult to tighten without the gentle help of pliers. They are much more convenient than a set screw, but less suitable for high performance "audiophile" installations where the speaker wire needs to be large and very tightly clamped. The screw and body threads are not very precise, so the DeoxIT Gold lube will help lubricate them for easier insertion and reduce future oxidation. When I installed them on a Fosi DA2120 mini amp I found that the spring tension on these banana plugs has some voltage difference between them. This resulted in a loose fit in the very compact and closely spaced jacks on the back of the amp and some possibility of two adjacent plugs touching and causing a short. I therefore recommend that you take a small screwdriver and increase the tension of the tip spring by prying a little on all four sides. some adjustments to make them work optimally. But at this price point, they're a great solution for connecting speakers in a secondary stereo system.
