Perfect! - Living room furniture

This chest is pretty good. I am single and had no problem building the device myself. In general, the purchase is satisfied, very satisfied! Here is my detailed review below. 1) Woodgrain Finish: The finish on the sides and top is superb - the wood glows beautifully when the light hits it. The wooden parts are veneered over pressed panels. 5 out of 5 stars 2) Metal finish and durability: I especially like the metal finish. Not only is it painted with harsh paint, but it still has some metallic surface reflections when the light hits the hardware. Also, I have to say that the hardware is solid and suits this run. The hinges are adequate, the spring closer is adequate as well with just enough tension to prevent the top cover from accidentally breaking. All fittings are thought out to the smallest detail, functional and beautiful. The screws did not lose their color or finish when installed with an electric drill/screwdriver with minimal tension. 5 out of 5 stars 3) Fit: Some of the wooden parts don't fit perfectly, but just enough that if you look closely you can tell the difference. Also, some of the pre-drilled holes don't line up perfectly with the hardware, but wood screws are wood screws and make your own holes easily. 4 out of 5 stars. 4) Durability: The device uses cam screws and wooden dowels to stay in place. I used wood dowel glue and also used eccentric screws as indicated. The adhesive makes the device more durable in the long run. 5 stars out of 5 5) Attractiveness: I must say that I was very pleased with the trunk and its attractiveness. In fact, it looks better in real life than in the photo. 5 out of 5 stars. 6) Durability: I've read other reviews that the device isn't as durable as they were hoping for. Well, I found the device to be quite adequate in that department. However, I recommend using wood glue on both ends when inserting the wooden dowels. When this glue hardens and soaks into the wood, the trunk becomes very, very strong. 7) Short Legs: The wooden short legs of this device are good. However, I did notice that the wooden sides don't line up perfectly, which makes the corner legs look odd when screwed on with two screws. I wouldn't over tighten them as they can rip short legs. I would suggest an electric drill or screwdriver set on the LOWEST voltage to install all the hardware. 8) Color: This is a deep mahogany with a very slight red tinge. The stain is deep and the finish is also very deep. The color inside is a rustic brown stain. Nothing special but the color is dark. 4 stars out of 5 9) Instructions: I noticed that the instructions are not in perfect English, but they are sufficient for the installation. In fact, there were no fatal errors in the functionality of the instructions. 4 stars out of 5 10) Easy to Install: All you really need is a Phillips screwdriver, although they do come with an Allen key and a screwdriver. I had no trouble building the block myself. I took my time and it took about 45 minutes. Just make sure and follow the instructions to join the two ends first on one side, then on the bottom, then on the last side. If you don't do it in the right order, you'll be in trouble. The instructions put it in the right order. 5 out of 5 stars 11) Miscellaneous: They have nice rubber buffers for the lid so that it closes quietly. The packaging was brilliant and the shipping carton was reinforced and adequate. The trunk size is smaller than most full size side tables in both width and length. Height - the standard height of the side table. I was looking for something that could replace my large table and free up some space in my living room. This device serves its purpose. Also surprising is that I use the trunk to store my additional unlisted antiques. While this is one of the few exceptions, I have to say that in general, buying furniture from Revain is just plain stupid. Surely most furniture purchases have failed completely. Lessons I Learned: Buying furniture from Revain is stupid
