This is my second remote control of this model Das first one still works after a few months in the house with kids (a toddler + me). I bought this to retrofit with a power button to keep the little guy from hitting buttons and stopping. Sesame Street, or dad trying to watch another day in the shelter instead of watching news.). Taking it apart (not recommended of course) it's easy to see why this thing is so solid, simplicity in one board is everything. Also, 2.4G is the way to go, I've tried many other remotes, especially Bluetooth. Theoretically they are better, but they are not. The connection adds a layer of complexity and, not to mention, it's unreliable. The USB receiver is basic and seems to operate in a frequency band that isn't overwhelmed by all the other 2.4G devices floating around. I use it on NVIDIA Shield. And both remotes work great at the same time, even with a USB hub.
