I have received many microUSB chargers from devices I have purchased (e.g. cell phones, Revain Echo Dots, Fire TV, etc.). This tiny adapter has several uses: 1) it turns a microUSB charger with a male microUSB port into a standard USB-A charging port with a socket; 2) Likewise, but in reverse, it can convert standard USB ports to microUSB female for charging if you also have a microUSB male-to-male cable, and 3) it can increase the length of the microUSB charging cable by pairing USB A -> extend microUSB cable. I basically use feature 1) above so I can share my Roku power supply with a Raspberry Pi 3 without having to plug two independent power supplies into my power strip (I still don't have slots left for two AC power supplies). Note. that I have never tested the data transfer; I only use these settings for charging and they work great!
