Electop USB 2.0 Female Micro: Superior Connectivity & Versatility Review

These are great for converting the ends of USB Micro charging cables to regular extension cables. USB 2.0 extension cable. I just wish they hadn't left the USB 2.0 socket unsecured. By that I mean they extend the black plastic sleeve that already covers the USB micro jack to also cover the USB 2.0 jack. It would look better and less chance of things snagging on all those exposed metal nooks and crannies.

I have a strange USB device that needs a screen to work. It didn't work when I tried to connect it to this adapter. I cut open the device and heated the plastic inside to get these pictures showing the problem. 4 wires connect to V+ Data+ Data- and Ground, but the 5th wire is needed to connect the shield. I bought this primarily for use with an iPhone 30 pin to Micro B USB converter to an old school iPhone cable coming out of my car stereo to a plain vanilla USB port. Then I plugged in the USB stick and it worked great. I'm not sure how many times I can plug and unplug before this breaks, so I added a short male to female USB extension cable and everything is fine now. The order was received quickly, nicely packaged and one of the two adapters worked perfectly! It was as simple as plugging in the micro USB connector and plugging in the Type A USB connector.
