Review on Electop USB 2.0 Female Micro: Superior Connectivity & Versatility by Bob Boan

I have a strange USB device that needs a screen to work. It didn't work when I tried to connect it to this adapter. I cut open the device and heated the plastic inside to get these pictures showing the problem. 4 wires connect to V+ Data+ Data- and Ground, but the 5th wire is needed to connect the shield. This means that any devices you connect outside of this adapter may be more susceptible to generating or receiving electromagnetic interference. I would give this 5 stars if the description didn't lie that it is screened. Not only does this not have an escape of its own, but it also breaks escape continuity for anything further down the line.
