Problem: I am a renter and recently purchased a Philips Hue smart lighting and switching system for my entire home. But if I had visitors or someone who was looking after my apartment in my absence, they automatically tried to use the toggle switches for the lights. This can cause problems with the timing of outlets and smart lightbulbs. The child-safe switches don't work as guests can just bypass the railing, which doesn't fully cover the toggle switch. Solution: Cover the old wall switch completely with it and place the new Smart Switches next to it. . No more confused guests and no more resetting my smart lighting settings. I have no plans to move anytime soon, but when I do I won't have to cancel any fancy electrical workarounds. I can easily remove these covers in 2 seconds and take them to my next apartment. It could have been a little more aesthetic, but after a week I honestly don't even notice them on the wall anymore. But the cover is bright white. So if you have an off-white/off-white/discolored counter wall, it will stand out a bit.
