This is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a really solid mount that I can use with my phone to record flights regularly and anything else I might want to video but mainly for the cockpit. Thanks to the strong clip, I can easily attach it to the cab without worrying about it falling or moving. The extension is detachable, which is also very handy when you don't need it and just want to mount it directly on the clip, for example directly on the dashboard in the cab (or on the dashboard of your car, whatever). The extension is very useful. hard, which is good and partly why I became interested in this particular mount among dozens of others of its kind. I have a lot of experience with flexible serpentine extensions with mic pop filters and while they are stiff enough for this utility I would never trust them to hold a phone in place without it sagging under gravity, moving etc. It is extremely rigid but can flex enough to be usable. The connection system with plug-in terminals is very smooth-running and extremely durable. Everything about this mount is solid, which is why I'm so impressed. We'll see how well the mostly plastic construction holds up over time, but based on limited use, so far so good. The clasp that holds the phone itself is very tight, which is a good thing. Maybe a little "too tight" but it will likely loosen up a bit over time. This is better than falling out because of too much free space. It barely fits in my Samsung Galaxy Note 5, one of the largest phones. So if your phone is even bigger, it may not fit. It is also very durable and holds the phone firmly. It also has a threaded nut built into one side of the tripod mount. Nice gesture. They also seem to make many other compatible mounts that mount to bikes, helmets and other things, so this is a pretty handy mount. I'm very impressed. The clamp is very strong, the extension is very rigid and strong, the mount is solid, everything is interchangeable, expandable and even mountable on a tripod. The only thing I could complain about is that some of the parts can be metal, but the plastic is good quality and very thick, so that's probably not a problem. This item is absolutely perfect. I can't say enough how happy I am with how reliable it is and how easy it is to use. It's simple, reliable and works. Ideal.
