🏰 Disney Princess Dance Castle by KidKraft Review

It's strong and well made. But the parts are packed in the box in such a way that several corners of the parts were damaged, as well as the stickers/appliques. For the price this is very disappointing. We had a somewhat disappointing baby on Christmas morning. Cannot rate more than two. Could have been four or five if they had packaged it differently.

Regarding assembly, it wasn't as confusing as I thought. It's easy to slip on and once it's off you lose your grip. I assembled the base frame before gifting it to my granddaughters. This allowed them to place some decorative elements and furniture in the castle themselves. It was good because I didn't want them sitting over my shoulder looking forward to the game starting and going through the small bits. I bought it as a Christmas present for my daughter. She loves playing with it. However, the thickness of the boards is so thin that they definitely won't withstand an accidental bump or impact. As others have noted, this item is difficult to assemble (27 pages of instructions) which usually doesn't bother me other than the fact that the item is cheap given the price somehow cheaply made site. The screws are not that strong (broken), the windows fall out, the back of the lock is not a solid piece of wood, but a solid paper background. This lock wasn't difficult to build. It took my wife and I about 2 hours to assemble. Most of the time I was dealing with terrible instructions but the truth is there are no written instructions apart from some illustrations. It's quite big. It's about 5 feet tall and 3 feet wide. Package arrived and required full assembly as expected. But the back panel used was too high and prevented the panel from being placed properly. There were built-in screws that were right where the new screws were supposed to be, so to put the pieces together you had to slide the screw through the wood to avoid the other pieces. KidKraft has terrible quality control. I had 2 walls duplicated (two walls #2, #3) without one side of the castle. That meant I couldn't build it for my daughter's birthday. which makes her very sad. Then when I finally got the missing part after contacting them through their parts page, I found that the dancing "roof" also had some quality issues and was stuck (music only). I have to reapply. It took me and my partner just over an hour to assemble. Some of them can be done by one person, but installing doors is a two-person job. KidKraft uses nuts and bolts to attach the doors to the rest of the dollhouse, making it extra difficult to do with just one person.
