Please read this review to the end. I'm not a big fan of online shopping because you can never be sure of the quality of the products you'll receive, but I promise you this product is worth the investment. I bought a basic laptop fan from a local warehouse that just doesn't work. Most products that you find in simple warehouses have a small fan in the middle of the product. The single fan struggles to circulate air across the entire surface of the laptop and therefore fails to dissipate the heat generated by laptops. My laptop gets hot in the back left where the main air vent for my laptop's built-in fan is located. It can be so hot that it is uncomfortable. With this product I have a big fan exactly where the problem lies! The fans are positioned to cover the entire surface of your laptop. The really nice thing about this fan is that you can turn on just the top two fans, just the bottom two, or all four. Since my heat issue is the rear left, I can just turn on the top fans and adjust their speed at will, saving battery life. This fan pumps out a lot of air and I'm sure it will be enough to keep the heat down even in the most extreme cases. The fans spin faster than my other cooling pad and they are quite large. The quality is just fantastic. I was expecting it to be a piece of regular plastic which I would have to be very careful with, but it is surprisingly well made. Of course, if you like scattering things on a hard floor, you could get into trouble. The front grille is painted METAL and the plastic is a nice shiny and textured material that feels REALLY DURABLE. I wouldn't say it's heavy, but it does make you feel bulky when you hold it in your hands because it's actually pretty sturdy. The fans are built really well and don't rattle at all even when the product is moved which is nice. The supplied USB cable is made of braided material. For the price it's really very good considering how much I paid for another laptop fan that doesn't even work a quarter. It has very nicely textured rubber feet that keep it from moving and the little flaps on the front that keep the laptop from sliding off provide some resistance to keep them in place. My laptop is a 15.6" laptop and the stand is perfect for it and should easily fit 17" fans as well. The fan protrudes slightly above my laptop, so the size is perfect. The airflow is amazing, so even when the laptop is on the table, there is room all over the surface to draw air into the fans. With my previous laptop cooling pad, I had to tilt the stand to get enough air into the fan. With this fan, only the top two fans at 50% power are enough to keep my laptop cool. If you're putting a pillow over a nice fluffy blanket that blocks airflow, you may need to fold the pillow back. The lights are a really nice touch and make the panel look really cool. If you're not a fan of lights, they're not that visible, so don't let that bother you. However, you cannot turn them off unless the fan is off, of course. This panel has a power switch so you can leave it plugged in without damaging your laptop's battery. The only thing that's a little awkward is that the controls are on the back of the laptop, requiring you to reach around to make adjustments. But even that is NOT a serious problem, so don't worry. How often will you adjust the fan speed? I don't play with them at all. There's some hiss, but nothing overwhelming, and when playing something out of my laptop's speakers, even at a low volume, I no longer notice the laptop's fan, at least not in the way I'm concerned. However, that's to be expected from a laptop that pumps out so much air. My laptop's internal fans used to be MUCH LOUDGER and now don't need to turn on as the cooling pad fans keep the temp down on their own. In conclusion, I really recommend you to get this cooling pad if you have serious pad overheating issues. I am very happy with my purchase and would buy again.
