Cute but not comfortable

These shoes look great and appear to be durable but after wearing them for a while my son has red patches on the front of his ankles/legs. Mario/Luigi's faces with velcro are quite large and they rub and rub against his ankles/legs as he walks. They caused red sores. As much as he loves shoes, he won't wear them because they hurt. I can't blame him. This is disappointing.
